His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia Kirill arrived to the Crimea to meet with President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych, information agency UNIAN reports.
The plane of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church landed at the airport Belbek near Sebastopol, where the Patriarch was welcomed by Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ukraine Mykhailo Zurabov, Metropolitan Lazarus of the Crimea and Simferopol, Prime-Minister of the Republic of Crimea Vasyl Dzharty, head of the city state administration of Sebastopol Valery Saratov and Consul general of the Russian Federation to Sebastopol Volodymyr Andreyev.
Chairman of the Synodal Information Department of the Russian Orthodox Church Volodymyr Legoyda previously reported that Patriarch Kirill and Victor Yanukovych have good and friendly relations.
He said that the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church and the President of Ukraine will have an opportunity to discuss church-social and church-state issues at their meeting.
According tot the source of the UNIAN, Patriarch Kirill is to leave the Crimea on July 24 in the morning.
