KYIV. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr Prayed for Ukraine, the Ukrainian People and President-Elect Victor Yanukovych

On the commemoration day of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God at the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra the prayer service was held. The divine office was led by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and His Beatitude metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine. Praying at the service was also the president-elect of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr prayed for Ukraine, the Ukrainian people and the President-elect of Ukraine.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill addressed the President-elect of Ukraine with a greeting word and gave him the Icon of Christ the Savior as a gift.
His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr gifted Victor Yanukovych a seal ring of the Kyivan Prince Vsevolod, the son of the right-believing Prince Yaroslav the Wise, which he received as a gift from the Byzantine emperor Constantine Monomachos in 1043. Also read:
