As Chair of the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchy V.Legoyda informed the RIA News agency: “The changes of the route of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill’s journey were made. On repeated insistent recommendations and information of the authorities the plane was due to land in Kyiv instead of Rivne.”
“In the course of preparation of the visit e have repeatedly heard the recommendations to withdraw from coming to Rivne, nevertheless the Patriarch asked to provide a possibility to meet his fold. We do not know the details, whether the provocations are being prepared, we act upon recommendations of the presidential administrations and secretariat of the President of Ukraine”, stated V.Legoyda.
It was previously planned that Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia would visit the Diocese of Rivne.
