On the program of the official visit of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to Ukraine in the evening of July 26, at 18.00 the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church called to the construction site of the Holy Resurrection Cathedral of the UOC.
His Holiness the Patriarch was welcomed by Vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis, His Grace Alexander of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy and the cathedral’s key-keeper, chairman of the Synodal Information of the UOC archpriest George Kovalenko.
His Holiness looked over the miniature of the future cathedral, familiarized himself with a list and destination of the buildings which the cathedral’s estate includes. The guests called immediately to the construction site following which they looked over the expositions, functioning in Soborna Gallery at present.
At the Church of All Saints, located in the park of the construction site, His Holiness the Patriarch bowed unto the local shrines. In remembrance of his visit the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church offered the icon of the Holy Hierarch Nicholas the Wonderworker as a gift to the future cathedral.
The official program of stay in Kyiv for Monday, July 26 was concluded by the visit o fthe construction site of the cathedral.
